My colleagues and I went out last October 20, 2012 to have a little marine life trip at Manila Ocean Park. We were so excited to see the Philippines’ first oceanarium and our eyes were very fascinated to see different types of marine creatures.
Just so you know, our MOP trip gave me a very important lesson that I would want to share everyone–always have your camera FULLY CHARGED. I was not able to take a lot of good pictures because my camera died on me. Good thing I’m bringing my portable samsung ES70 and was able to take some acceptable shots. lol.
Some of these photos aren’t mine so I’m giving credit to Sir Gino (Gilberbuns) for the photos. π
The first attraction we watched was the penguin show. I am sure that I remember one of the penguins name because she’s just adorable. Her name was Isis. She really showed some attitude at the show. Β π
Then we went to the fishes where we saw different kinds of sea creatures along with their scientific names and habitats. Again, I’m regretting the part that I was not able to have my camera fully charged that day. lol.
Look who I found! Nemo and his dad.
This is a baby shark in a shell.
Our next stop was to see the most awaited and the country’s first-ever oceanarium. Β It feels good seeing different kinds of fishes swinging above that big blue aquarium.
Don’t ask me what I was doing here. It is pretty obvious that I was so stunned with the fishes. lol. It’s just me and my weird goofiness.
One of my favorite experiences–To be able to enter the ice room. I don’t know if they’re going 10 degrees there but I have to say it was sooooooo cold!
Despite of the cold, we stayed a bit longer for a photo op. We also tried playing the snow with our bare hands and I’m telling you that I wouldn’t dare try it again. My hands went numb and it felt like burned. lol.
Went to check out some souvenir stuff.
Our last attraction target were the glowing jellyfish. They look gorgeous with the lights and classical music. It almost look like their dancing with the music.
At the end of the day, we were all tired but we really enjoyed the attractions at MOP. Plus, there are a lot of good stuff to buy if you would visit the stalls. With their affordable ticket packages, MOP is a sure winner for family trips especially for the children. Hopefully I could bring my little sister here next time. π
