One of the best things about travelling in the Philippines is savoring the traditional aspects of every province you visit. You learn and experience their culture, norms, a little of their language and of course, try their food.

On our last night in Puerto Princesa, we decided to spend dinner at Kalui Restaurant. It has a gorgeous native setting embellished with bamboo, banig and wooden fixtures.

“We’re barefootin” sign in a Filipino restaurant. How cool is that!

Excuse our feet

The place has a nice set of art collection and decorations that complement the native setting. (Excuse the blurred photos, I just took these with my phone)

The restaurant also has a small patio great for photo ops. I like the term “PalaWander” they used there.

Our food trip isn’t complete without tasting their scrumptious dishes. We tried some of the best sellers including Seafood Sisig, Seafood Kangkong and Sinigang ni Kaka.

They also provide complimentary fruit desserts served in a coconut shell. A set includes papaya and watermelon topped with healthy sugar.

The pricing is okay – ranging from 180PHP to 500PHP. Not bad. 🙂

KaLui is located in Puerto Princesa City proper. It’s not far from the airport so you can walk or ride tricycle from there.

I definitely recommend this restaurant to those who like indulging in a unique dining experience. We had a great time and I think you will too. If you want to know more about the restaurant, visit www.kaluirestaurant.com.
