boracay

I remember how my grandmother would tease me of how I would be taking her to places when I grow up. She occasionally mentions it she isn’t serious about it. She wasn’t aware that even as a young kid I already have the urge to make that a reality.

This year, I decided to accomplish one of my “Things to do before I’m 25” list– and that includes taking my grandma on a trip. My location of choice is Boracay Island.

This is my second visit to the beautiful paradise. My first visit in Boracay was fun but I guess I’m never running out of reasons to come back.

Why I came back:

* To let my grandmother relax and see the beach
* Try things in Boracay I haven’t tried before
* There are places I still wish to explore, especially Puka
* I wish to celebrate my birthday on the beach

Boracay is probably one of the places I won’t get tired of. I enjoy the beautiful view, lovely beaches, the fun vibe of locals and tourists and plenty of activities.

First Day: Arrival in Boracay

We left Pampanga in the morning on November 9th to catch our flight from Manila to Kalibo.

NAIA
Our flight was delayed for 2 hours. Here I am sitting pretty while waiting. lol.

Upon arriving to Kalibo we were greeted by the people who will transfer us to Caticlan and the White Beach. The land travel was quite long & exhausting but everything felt worth it upon arriving at the beach at sunset.

Sunset is the best time in Boracay

The first day was basically for chilling and and resting. After dinner, we went out to see the fiery fire dancers.

Second day: Activity Day

Our second day was intended for activities. The activities we chose are helmet diving, parasailing and puka beach.

Activity prices depend on the season. If you went during summer months (Mar-May) or holiday season (Nov-Dec), expect prices to be quite higher.

Unfortunately, my camera died the second day. Good thing I had my reliable S5 which I used to take decent shots of the rest of the trip.

Helmet Diving

I was nervous because it’s the first time I try this. They made us wear a big heavy helmet which I think could injure my neck if I wasn’t careful. Lol. As I went deep into the water I can feel the pressure in my ears. It was manageable though.

I like the part when we fed the fish and they came close to us. It’s like living in a life-size aquarium. lol.

Parasailing

It’s my second try and I still feel excited about it. I like the sight up there but staying too long makes me really dizzy.

Puka Beach

We’re supposed to go island hopping but they informed us that visiting Puka beach would be impossible due to strong waves.

I’m disappointed but I understand. However, this didn’t stop me from seeing the stunning Puka beach. We hired a tricycle to take us from White beach to Puka. The ride only cost us 350php (back-forth). Way cheaper compared to 1500php island hopping fee.

I’m so happy when we arrived. The beach is stunning and there’s few people around, which makes it a perfect escape from the crowd at the White beach.

Unlike the White beach, there are no establishments around Puka. However, there’s this small place or carinderia where people can get lunch.

We planned to have our lunch by the beach. We bought pizza and snacks from the White beach and took it to Puka so we can munch while enjoying the view.

Third day: Swimming, Birthday & Food

Our third day in Boracay is my birthday so we spent it relaxing and enjoying the beach. I opted for a pastel theme birthday this year.Wonder how I pulled it off? Read my birthday at Boracay beach post.

Will I come back?

I have to say that a day or three in Boracay isn’t enough. If I come back, I’d probably stay longer.
